The circular economy proposes an economic model based on reducing waste, improving the harnessing of resources and extending the useful life of products and materials.
The dual transition, green and digital, is accelerating the transformation towards more sustainable systems, promoting emerging sectors such as pooled use, systems for recovery and reuse, products as a service and nature-based solutions. These initiatives encourage innovation, optimise product life cycles and create new job opportunities in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
In this context, Bilbao Ekintza has drawn up its own route sheet for the circular economy: a strategic plan that directs our activities towards the promotion of talent, entrepreneurship and business competitiveness. Training programmes, technical consultancy, awareness campaigns and innovation projects are developed to provide local stakeholders with the tools required to move forward in terms of sustainability and circularity. This commitment to the circular economy seeks not only to transform the way in which we use and manage resources, but also to construct a fairer, more inclusive and resilient city for future generations.
