In Bilbao Ekintza we support SMEs and businesses in Bilbao to improve their competitiveness, launching new projects or business lines and improving their sales or business management in general. To this end, we provide companies with experts who attend to them individually, offering them, at no cost to the SME, hours of advice in which to work on aspects such as; financing, marketing and commercialization, window dressing, human resources, e-commerce, commercial and Internet positioning, computerization and digitalization of the business, etc.

On the other hand, we also inform about aid and subsidy programs from different institutions and organizations, in a comprehensive way, including those aimed at facilitating or encouraging the hiring of people and incorporating talent into companies.

In November 2020, Bilbao City Council, through its municipal company Bilbao Ekintza, launched the #BONOBILBAO campaign, within the Aurrera Bilbao Plan, to help the four sectors most affected by COVID-19 in the city: Commerce, culture, restaurants and tourism (accommodation and tourist activities).

Following the success of the Commerce, Culture and Hospitality vouchers of the Aurrera 2020 Plan and the Commerce vouchers of the Aurrera 2021 Plan, the sale of vouchers for the Bilbao Culture and Hospitality Voucher campaign of the Aurrera Bilbao 2021 Plan has now begun, after a first phase of adhesion to the campaign by businesses and establishments.

The deadline for companies in the cultural and hospitality sector to join the scheme began on 8 September. In this way, more than 155,000 vouchers will be launched (124,000 for hospitality and 30,529 for culture) with a budget of 1.5 million euros, which will encourage direct consumption by the public with the aim of economically reactivating these sectors.

You can now buy your vouchers at www.bonobilbao.eus. In the case of the hotel and catering trade, there are two vouchers: for 10 and 20 euros, with the Bilbao City Council contributing half the value. Five vouchers can be withdrawn per ID card and up to four can be used for each purchase ticket. The deadline for use is 5 December 2021.

The Culture vouchers, on the other hand, have a value of 20 and 40 euros. Ten vouchers can be collected per ID card and up to four can be exchanged per purchase ticket. The vouchers can be redeemed until 15 March 2022.

Likewise, the Bilbao Bizkaia Tourism Voucher scheme, promoted on this occasion jointly by the City Council and the Regional Government, is also currently active.

Bilbao Ekintza provides SMEs and businesses with experts in various areas of the company to boost its competitive positioning. This service of individualized advice works in areas such as; commercial, economic-financial, technological or human resources marketing.

Bilbao Ekintza has a Mentoring programme aimed at companies and businesses in Bilbao, which have been in business for more than three years and are at a moment of change in their business model, change or reflection of their strategy, etc. A mentor can bring to your business new points of view, new approaches, references and their own experience.

When the time comes to make strategic decisions for your business or company, it is always good to have someone with a lot of experience by your side. That is what we make possible from Bilbao Ekintza with the Mentoring Program.

Mentoring consists of a process of personalized accompaniment aimed at evaluating the alternatives for action, making the best decisions and implementing them. It is channeled through individualized meetings, online and/or in person, with a fortnightly frequency and during a period of about eight months.

Bilbao Ekintza collaborates with the regional retail trade associations that are grouped together in Bilbao Dendak to support their promotional actions and invite non-associated retail trade to join them, understanding that adding up benefits everyone and allows them to go further and face common challenges.

Specifically, this support translates into:

• Monitoring of the actions to be carried out during the year by the thirteen retail trade associations that make up Bilbao Dendak.
• Technical support in the implementation of campaigns, in the presentation of applications and final report of activities
• Final evaluation of the campaigns and identification of improvement actions
• Constant work with Bilbao Dendak for the deployment of joint actions aimed at improving the commercial fabric of the city.
• Justification of expenses and economic report.
